A Week Without Wi-Fi

No signal, no notifications, no uploads. What a week offline in the mountains taught me about attention.

For a creator, being offline feels strange at first. No checking comments, no uploads, no messages. On a recent trek the signal disappeared for a full week, and after the first two days of restlessness, something changed: I started noticing more.

Quiet water, quiet mind.
Quiet water, quiet mind.

What I noticed

  • Conversations lasted longer because I wasn’t looking at my phone.
  • I filmed less, but what I filmed was better.
  • I slept earlier and woke up for sunrise without trying.

I’m back online now, of course. But I build offline days into every trip, and I’d recommend you try it — even one day makes a difference.
